A little bit about our Speakers

Joseph Sugarman, Keynote

Joseph Sugarman was drafted out of college where he was studying electrical engineering and was assigned to the Army Intelligence branch of the military. He was later transferred to Germany where he worked with the CIA and where he learned the German language, which he speaks fluently.

Returning to the United States he became a legend in copywriting and direct marketing. As the first person to introduce the use of toll-free numbers and recognized for his innovative print advertising approach, he was the leading pioneer in the introduction of several product concepts such as the pocket calculator, the digital watch and several other innovative space-age products. His most famous introduction was for his line of BluBlocker sunglasses, which was run as a major print campaign and one of the first TV infomercials.

Sugarman was also a commercial instrument-rated pilot and owned 4 airplanes. In the mid 1980s he conducted 20 seminars charging participants thousands of dollars sharing his knowledge and helping his students succeed in their respective fields. Sugarman’s copywriting approach grabbed the reader and didn’t let go. His ads appeared in just about every in-flight airline magazine for several years under his JS&A banner. In Maui, Hawaii, Sugarman bought the local Maui Weekly newspaper, which he ran for several years before selling the paper to the island’s daily newspaper. He was a regular on QVC for 20 years and sold over 20 million pairs of his popular sunglasses on TV and in print.


Sharon Zehavi, Branding Expert

Sharon is a spicy Israeli that was born with natural instincts for getting attention. Growing in a family that nurtured both the performing and fine arts, she has brought all these skills together to discover her super power in branding!
Sharon is a branding strategist, coach and an international speaker. She is well known for her passionate approach and fiery personality. She has worked with companies in North America, Europe and Asia, and is an international published writer who has been featured on TV, magazines and other publications. She believes in the power of design, and knows that the real magic of branding lays in the HOW and not just the WHAT.

Even with her success record, which holds working with world known brands on million dollar campaigns, she still finds the time to speak and teach with small business owners on how to increase their profits and market share through controlling perception and strategic seduction. She has also developed “Sex Up Your Brand - The Ultimate DIY Course”, that is specifically designed for small businesses with smaller teams and tighter budgets at their disposal. She also takes pride towards volunteering her knowledge and support to many non-profit organizations, that could benefit from her skills and strategies.

Charles Matthews, Entertainment

To some folks he’s known as McDonald's’ Big Extra Man. Others recognize him as Mr Caribbean. Still some associate him with precision tight choreography for music videos, pageants and fashion shows across Eastern Canada.
If you don’t know the face, you quite likely are familiar with the voice of Charles Matthews, former co-host of CHRY 105.5 Fm’s ‘Radio Dubplate’ and MyTCN and new podcast show JUMP.
Today, Charles or ‘Chuck the Model’ references the best of his backstage and onstage experience to exceed client expectations so they never have to worry about the quality of the outcome of their corporate event, wedding, street festival, party or stage show.
